Completion of the Mid-Yuan Buddha Seven

On August 18, the Mid-Yuan Buddha Seven (a special seven-day prayer event) at Mituo Village was successfully completed.

During the Buddha Seven, monks and laypeople devotedly worshiped, chanted, circumambulated the Buddha, and meditated every day in the Repayment of Gratitude Buddha Hall. Each recitation of the Buddha’s name connected them to the ocean of Amitabha's vows; each step on the lotus path brought them closer to the Pure Land.

The success of such an event is attributed to many auspicious causes and conditions. We are deeply grateful for the blessings of the Buddha's power, the protection of celestial beings, the guidance of our teachers, the silent support of all volunteers, and the dedication of those who, though unable to attend in person, remain connected to Amitabha Village in spirit. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in the event, maintaining precepts and chanting together over the seven days, and serving the Dharma venue.

We believe that all those who have contributed to and participated in this Buddha Seven have accumulated merits for their Pure Land journey. May everyone’s practice flourish and their Dharma joy be abundant.

The completion of the Buddha Seven coincided with the 15th day of the 7th lunar month—Buddha's Joy Day, and also the Ullambana Festival. The teachers led the assembly in performing rites of merit transference and the Mengshan ceremony to bless all suffering beings and to dedicate merit to the spirits of the departed.

That night, after a thunderstorm and heavy rain, under the bright full moon, Mituo Village lit countless oil lamps to make wishes for all suffering beings. We hope that the Buddha's compassionate light and wisdom can guide the suffering beings in the Six Realms to find relief and joy, eliminate karmic obstacles, and ascend together to the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
