Support Under the Scorching Sun · Welcoming the September Buddha Recitation Retreat

During the long Labor Day weekend, a time usually meant for rest and relaxation, the Dharma brothers at Mituo Village chose a different path—with unwavering faith, they once again gathered at this pure Dharma ground, devoting their full effort to prepare for the upcoming Buddha Recitation Retreat from September 14th to 20th.

🔸 Dignity in Sweat

Over two days, everyone worked together in harmony:

• Cleaning the first floor of the main hall, making the Buddha Hall more solemn and spotless;

• Tidying up the surroundings of the Dining Hall, so all may take meals in peace and stability;

• Organizing Prajna Residence, ensuring a clean and comfortable living space;

• Washing the sofas and chairs in the Dharma Master’s rest room, as an act of reverence;

• Maintaining the golden roof of the main hall, so it shines resplendently under the sun.

Under the blazing sun, sweat streamed down faces, yet no one retreated. Every pair of hands gave its strength, every heart burned with dedication.
While others chose to rest, we chose to give; while others chose comfort, we chose responsibility.
Here, each Dharma brother became the driving force for one another, merging into an unstoppable current.

🔸 Masters Walk Together with the Community

Even more moving, the Dharma Masters of Mituo Village, outside of their cultivation practice, also joined in the labor, working shoulder to shoulder with everyone. Here, cultivation and support intertwine; spirit and action unite. We are not merely maintaining a monastery—we are writing a solemn chapter in the history of Amitabha Village.

🔸 Teachings of the Patriarchs

Master Yin Guang taught:

“To repay the Buddha’s kindness, one should dedicate both body and mind to upholding Pure Land practice, help others do good according to one’s capacity, and support the Dharma ground.”

This is precisely our reflection in this moment. Supporting Amitabha Village is not only about cleaning bricks and tiles—it is about dignifying the Pure Land with real actions, and strengthening our resolve for the Path.

As Master Lianchi also said:

“It is people who carry forward the Dharma, not the Dharma that carries people.”

The successful completion of the Buddha Recitation Retreat depends on the collective support of everyone. Every effort is the truest form of spreading the Dharma.

Now, the final weekend before the retreat has arrived. All preparations must be completed to perfection at this very moment.
This is the most crucial time—we need the strength of the community more than ever!
